Now that Girlfriend 19 is complete, I’ve been thinking a lot about film festivals, in particular, why I hope to get into a reputable one.
For me, getting into a reputable film festival is a lot more than fun, fame, and success; it’s a professional hug. More than a boost to the ego, it’s a boost to the soul. Being acknowledged professionally fills one with hope and energy, a renewed confidence.
Many friends and family have embraced me and my films, to which I am extremely grateful. And now, after 5 years of hard work, I must admit: I could use a professional hug as well :)
